Dr.Ali Soltani
Senior Research Associate

Background

Dr. Soltani began his professional career as a Research Scholar at The Pennsylvania State University in 1999 after receiving his doctoral degree in Civil Engineering at the National Institute of Applied Sciences in Lyon , France , in 1998. In the spring of 2002, he continued his research activities as a Research Associate at The Pennsylvania Transportation Institute.

Dr. Soltani is a key player in conducting advanced research at NECEPT. He plays a major and active role in supervising laboratory materials characterization and in providing expertise to set-up the pavement measurement instrumentation. Specifically, he has been innovative in solving problems in the characterization of the fatigue behavior of asphalt pavements. He has developed a new methodology to interpret and analyze the results from fatigue tests on bituminous materials.
